Wine fest for Mbekweni

A TWO day festival of food and wine is planned for Mbekweni in September, to grow wine consumption and tourism in the community.
Chippa’s Place is the chosen venue for the festival to be held on 29 and 30 September, each day from 18:00 to 22:00.
The “South African food and wine festival” is an initiative of Supreme Promotions, a company involved in the wine industry.
Involving African chefs and restaurants will be the organisers'' way of “connecting wine to African people and so ensuring a better future for wine in the black market”.
Their major focus is to introduce South African food with wine, including traditional meals from bobotie to Xhosa meals like umngqusho.
The festival is targeting people from all over South Africa and abroad to come and enjoy this wonderful experience, featuring 40 exhibitors. Restaurants and chefs will also have stands where they will showcase dishes on 29 September from 18:30 until 21:30, and on 30 September from 14:30 to 17:30.
