Dewdale Classic tough challenge

THE annual Dewdale Classic mountain-biking event will take place on 15 July in Franschhoek.
Riders will be able to compete on long and medium routes which will start next to the Huguenot Monument.
The first few kilometres on the tarred road will serve as a warm-up before heading up a jeep track towards Matoppie Mountain.
A switch-back descent will bring cyclists down to the Robertsvlei Road where riders on the 25km route will make their way back to the finish and the 50km racers will attempt a second, completely different loop.
The 50km funride should only be attempted by fit riders as more than 30% of the route consists of moderate to really steep climbs.
The 25km loop will be a flatter ride, suitable for beginners.
