A PUBLIC meeting will be held on 18 July at 19:00 at the Drakenstein Dutch Reformed Church in Denneburg, Paarl, to discuss the proposed development of the farm Salmonsvlei West for residential purposes.

The meeting is organised by Withers Environmental Consultants.
The proposed development will comprise 900 housing units on nearly 30 hectares between Klein Parys and the N1 west of Lustigan Road.
It will include single residential erven, group housing, townhouses, flats and a retirement resort.

For this purpose, the property has to be rezoned for residential purposes.

The historic homestead will be retained intact on a 3 hectare section.
The existing farm dam will also be retained as part of the open space system of the development, while the preservation of some of the orchard trees as part of the landscape will be in keeping with the rural area.

Only one access is planned, in Carolina Road.
TV3 Architects and Town Planners are undertaking the application for the development and the Environmental Impact Assessment will now start.

A traffic impact assessment will be undertaken by BKS Engineers.
The background information document is available for review at the Paarl Library in Mill Street, the Paarl Golf Club or directly from A Withers, PO Box 6118, Uniedal, 7612, tel 021-887-4000, fax 021-883-2952 or awithers@mweb.co.za.

Use the same address to register as an interested and affected party. Comments must reach the consultant by 17 August.
