Planning starts for Mayoral Cup

PLANNING for the annual Mayoral Cup soccer tournament has begun. Last year 32 local soccer clubs participated in this event which was initiated to promote the game in this region.
To date, 20 clubs (affiliated with Safa Boland) are already listed as participants, but twelve more teams are needed to keep the structures which were put in place in 2006.
Clubs can apply at the Drakenstein Municipality to be included in this year's line-up.
The deadline for applications is 31 July and the competition is scheduled to start at the end of September.
