Confusion spoils race results

RUBBERDUCKERS from Wellington recently completed the fifth leg of the Rat Race Media/Red Square Regionals at Santos near Mossel Bay.
With provincial colours on the line, the competition amongst racers were tougher than ever.
On day one Steyn Basson and Jan Kriel (Team Vizifin/Basson Workwear) did exceptionally well to finish at the top in the P750 Blueprint class while JD de Villiers and Dirk Crafford (Team Africa Sanitation) came in sixth in the same category.
Jacques Groenewald and Frans Laubscher (Team Zing/Terrason), racing in the P750 Standard class, had to settle for sixth place as well.
Day two started with a longhaul section and a lot of confusion.
Organiser announced the wrong distance prior to the start, resulting in 16 boats out of 25 running out of fuel along the route.
