IT’S winter time in the Boland and that can only mean one thing - it is time for the Stellenbosch Wine Festival.
From 2 to 5 August visitors will be able to sample some 500 wines made by the most jovial, professional and fun-loving wine community in the world at the venue at the Paul Roos Centre.
There are wines on offer to suit every palate, as well as every pocket.
An on-site wine boutique will be well stocked with favourite finds of the Festival.
Broaden your mind at the interesting, informative and sometimes tongue-in-cheek wine lectures in the “Wine tasting theatre”, presented by Wine magazine.
Festival highlights include exclusive dinners with the winemaker on farms. R400 per person includes dinner, wine and soft drinks.
The more sporty wine enthusiasts can enter the Mountain Bike Challenge. Register in advance for this popular race. Lucky draws and big prizes up for grabs. Call 021-884-4752.
Soothe the soul with the sounds of Daniéle Pascal in C’est Si Bon at the Festival Café on Friday 3 August and Saturday 4 August.

For the champagne lovers, there will be a Cap Classique finger breakfast on Saturday 4 August and Sunday 5 August at Festival Café for R150.

The festival offers fun for the whole family. Bring the kids on Saturday or Sunday for the kiddies’ winter games.
Entrance fee to the festival is R75 on Thursdays and Sundays, and R90 on Fridays and Saturdays, and includes a tasting glass.
