SA colours for local duckers

LOCAL rubberduckers Steyn Basson and Jan Kriel (P750 Blueprint class) had an excellent first season with successes at club, regional and national level.
They started their season with a fourth place at the Gariep Dam, after which they performed more consistently, finishing the rest of their races in third place or better.
One of the highlights for Basson and Kriel was their second place at the Trans Atlantic, a bronze medal at the Trans Agulhas and runners-up at the SA Surf championship.
They were named most improved pilot and co-pilot of the year and both received their national colours.
Steyn was also awarded the sportsmanship trophy for his efforts during the Trans Agulhas. More than a hundred racers competed for this honour.
