UK pensioners - we could be nearly there
2007-08-16
FOR the information of expat pensioners who are not members of the South African Alliance of British Pensioners (SAABP) the latest news letter indicates that the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg has progressed as far as to inform us that they are affording us priority in our case against the British Government.
British Pensioners may be aware that after the SAABP had taken their case to the Lower and High Courts and finally the House of Lords, it left the door open for us to approach the ECHR. This was done and the case was accepted by them.
It was our Canadian expat pensioner friends who decided to continue on this route. Hopefully, the case will be heard later this year.
If there are any expat British Pensioners who are not members of the SAABP please contact Eric Byrom at PO Box 1650 Cramerview 2060 or ericb0@absamail.co.za (please note that after eric b comes the figure nought not the letter o).
