A POLICEMAN from Gugulethu was found in possession of a considerable amount of dagga in Paarl South on Tuesday afternoon.
A member of the public alerted the police when a black VW Golf was driving recklessly in Main Street.
The local police were quick to react and within minutes the driver of the vehicle was apprehended and escorted to the Paarl police station. After a search of the vehicle, twenty sachets of dagga with a street value of R500 were found.
The driver identified himself as a policeman from Gugulethu, but this did not deter local police officers, and Insp Quintin Roberts was arrested.
He appeared in the Paarl magistrate's court yesterday.
