TWO men and a youth have received significant sentences after pleading guilty to culpable homicide.
The three were arrested after a Somalian, Idriss Mahmood (26), was stabbed 18 times and then thrown from a train which had just left Klapmuts railway station.
Mahmood, who owns the station café at Klapmuts station, miraculously survived the attack in June.
Mkhumbuzi Sizani (22) and Thandikhaya Ntome (21), both from Kraaifontein, as well as a seventeen-year-old, were arrested in connection with the incident.
The three pleaded guilty during a plea bargain at the Paarl Regional Court and Ntome and Sizani were sentenced to an effective seventeen years imprisonment. The youth received ten years, of which three have been suspended.
