THE Rev Abe Maart Oral History Institute will undertake a Heritage Road Show during September to highlight the heritage of the Drakenstein and its forgotten heroes.

This will be accomplished by using music and giving the residents of the Drakenstein community the opportunity to tell their stories, and resurrect the forgotten history of the valley.

The stories will be broadcast live over the radio with the assistance from Radio KC.

The people of Drakenstein are encouraged to bring along pictures of their forgotten heroes, which will be scanned on the spot and kept in the archives of The Reverend Abe Maart Oral History Institute.

The Road show kicks of on Saturday at the Pick ‘n Pay Centre, Wellington.

On Saturday 15 September they will be at the Pick ‘n Pay Centre Paarl from 10:00 to 13:00, on Saturday 22 September at Midway Centre Mbekweni and on 29 September at Paarl Mall.

All people from Drakenstein are invited to join them and help bring the valley’s history back to life.
