THE long wait is eventually over! An extravaganza of music, art, food and theatre productions will be the order of the day for the next few days in Paarl during the Cultivaria Festival.
Never before have Paarlites been treated to a spectacular festival with such a large variety of world class entertainment on their doorstep.
The second Cultivaria Festival kicks off tonight with the lavish Black Tie Dinner during which the Main Street of Paarl will be closed for the laying of a dinner table extending over almost half a kilometre and feeding 1020 guests.
This year’s festival is highlighted by 100 top artists participating in the Wine and Art Route which will be scattered over 14 galleries along Main Street.
Top local musicians such as Jan Blohm, Kevin Leo, Theuns Jordaan, Chris Chameleon and Ddisselblom will be at hand to entertain music lovers across a broad spectrum.
More than 100 productions will be on view, involving about 40 stage and literary artists.
This includes a feast for theatre lovers who now have the opportunity to view some of South Africa’s top productions including the popular comedy “Groet die Grotman”.
Their will be lots of fun and entertainment for the little ones at La Rochelle hostel, while parents enjoy the more adult productions.
Faure Street Stadium has been transformed into the Food & Wine Emporium were festival-goers can put their feet up and enjoy an array of food, wine and local crafts while being entertained by live bands.
The Cultivaria Festival is sure to infuse a festive spirit into Paarl when festival-goers descend upon the valley from tomorrow until Monday. See more festival news from page 26.
