Two die in attacks

A MAN died this weekend when he was informed of his son’s death.
Franklin Liebenberg (20) was stabbed to death outside a shebeen in OR, Mbekweni, on Sunday evening, after he allegedly stabbed another man in the hand.
A friend of Liebenberg who was on the scene, apparently took a photograph of his lifeless body on his cellphone and presented it to Kiepie Hendricks (64), Liebenberg’s father.
The man clutched his chest and died shortly after this, apparently from a heart attack.
The suspect in Liebenberg’s murder is currently being treated at Paarl Hospital after an operation to his hand.
* On Saturday evening a woman died after she was stabbed in the neck. The incident took place on Kunnenberg farm, Simondium, during a quarrel between a group of people.
It is alleged that they were argueing over a radio when Elizabeth Philander intervened and was stabbed in the neck. Carolus Hendriks of Watervliet was arrested by police that same evening and appeared in Paarl magistrate’s court on Monday on a murder charge.
