Enjoy village life in Wellington
2007-09-20
THE new Versailles Village Life development on the Wellington urban edge is set to significantly drive up property values in an area already seeing an increase in values.
Developer and Gaussian Devco director Grahame Fogel says Wellington has benefited from the increasing demand for “lifestyle living”.
“Versailles Village Life is situated on a level, north-facing site, overlooks vineyards to the river and provides a rural setting.
More than 50% of the units have been sold and with a “Show Day” planned for Sunday, it is expected that the rest will sell briskly.
The architect, Michael Phillopedes, has carefully crafted elements of Cape Vernacular design and aesthetics into the scheme to respect the historic architecture of the town,” he says.
The development features 62 freehold units in a security village located on this historic Huguenot farm.A brandy cellar is being erected in the area of the original farm house.
Installation of services has commenced on site with an anticipated handover date of units in August next year. Building starts mid-January. Prices are set at less than R1 million.
