Concerts in Franschhoek

AFTER last year’s successful tour of the Boland, the Wynberg Boys High School Bands will once again undertake a Boland Tour this year.
They conclude their tour on Saturday 18 June at 18:30 in the Franschoek NGK Hall at a charity concert for the SPCA.
On Fathers Day, Sunday 19 June the bands will do a breakfast performance at Truffles Restaurant (10:00) and a lunchtime performance at Riverside (12:30).
This year’s tour group of 50 boys and five teachers will comprise of a steel band, jazz band, concert band and choir.
The jazz band will be under the directorship of Mark De Kock while the concert band will perform under the baton of Peter Catzavelos. Noelene Dunn is the choir mistress.
This year’s repertoire includes Meadowlands, Blue Bossa, Nelson Mandela, Best of Basie, Its only a paper moon, Phantom of the Opera, John Williams in Concert, A night on Bald Mountain, Pink Panther, James Bond, Beatles Gold and Eine Kleinie Rockmusiek
