THE Cape Winelands District Municipality has appointed a new Municipal Manager to lead it for the next five years.

Mike Mgajo started in the office on September 4, replacing Kam Chetty wo has left for the private sector after serving his five year contract.

The other managers have had their contracts extended to March 2008.

* Dan Kotze has been elected chairman of the Boland ANC replacing Mgajo.
