District mayoral election soon

THE Cape Winelands District Municipality (CWDM) is set to have its first council meeting after the floor crossing on Monday at 11:00 in Worcester.
Party representation has changed.
The current Party representation is as follows: African National Congress 16, Democratic Alliance 13, National People’s Party 3, Independent Democrats 2, Freedom Front Plus 1 and Progressive Democratic Movement 1.
The ANC and DA are expected to co-operate in the election of office bearers to ensure that the smaller parties do not control the council.
