Music will be in the air at Franschhoek

MUSIC is in the air with the fourth Franschhoek Spring Classical Music Festival from 26 to 28 October.
Friday 26 October at 19:00 at la Motte Cellio piano du Jan Pálenicek and Jitka Cechová of the Smetana Trio take the stage. Tickets are R110.
On Saturday 27 October at 12:00 at the NGK Church a fun and exciting recital programme will be performed at a midday concert with pianists Christopher Duigan. At 17:00 at the NGK Church two pianists, Nina Schumann and Luis Magalhaes, perform. At 19:00 enjoy a dinner concert at the new The Vineyard Brasserie with an entertainment of songs performed by popular baritone Federico Freschi. R250 includes a three-course dinner and Cap Classique.
Sunday 28 October at 11:30 cellist Eddie McLean has a recital of three Unaccompanied Cello Suites by JS Bach. Tickets are R70. At 12:30 international soprano Angela Gilbert performs for a special lunch concert in Franschhoek. Tickets (R220) include a three-course lunch.
The festival ends at 15:30 at the NGK Church with a fascinating programme of music for one, two, four, six and eight hands at one and two pianos.Tickets are R70.
