Van Zyl to debut for Cape Cobras

BOLAND cricketer Stiaan van Zyl (20) will make his debut for the Nashua Cape Cobras today.
The Cobras take on the Nashua Titans in a four-day match in Benoni for the start of the 2007 Supersport series.
Van Zyl is a promising SA Schools top-order batsman and seamer who was named Boland and Wellington Cricket Club’s player of the year recently.
The Cobras’ coach Shukri Conrad said the team is eager to right the wrongs of last season, especially in the four-day format with more emphasis on constructing their innings.
Van Zyl, no doubt, fits well into this framework as he is a great striker of the ball and adds depth with his bowling as well.
