New brooms sweep wonderfully clean

USUALLY when I put finger to keyboard to write to the newspaper, it is to complain about some irritation, usually perpetrated by our local municipality.
Today, however, I would like to compliment our new local government for keeping such a clean kitchen.
One can’t help but see rows of black municipal refuse bags lining our street week after week like good little soldiers.
I’ve never seen so much cleaning of streets and city areas in a long time.
What a pleasure to drive down a street and not have to plunge through 50 cm deep waterholes due to clogged drains. What a blessing to be rid of mountains of oak leaves lining our street like nuclear fall out. All gone! Cleaned up!
In my particular side of the town a municipal tractor with a clean-up crew is as scarce as a UFO sighting. Now I’ve seen them twice in one month!
Well done.
I love to see my tax money being used for something practical.
Keep up the good stuff - maybe somebody can also help fill the potholes in front of my home now?
