Mayoral Cup heats up

THE second round of the Mayoral Soccer Cup was played last week and over the weekend.
The competition is heating up as the teams are fighting for those valuable points which will inevitably decide who goes through to the play-offs. Quite a few games have gone down to the wire, testing player-skills individually and as a unit.
The latest results are: Green Hills beat Newton United 2-0; Saints FC drew 0-0 with Young Juventus; Paarl Pirates drew 4-4 with Mbekweni Sundowns; African Jaguars drew 0-0 with Paarl Soccer Club; Wellchester FC drew 3-3 with LA United; Young Ideas beat Barcelona 2-0; Juventus beat Victoria FC 9-1; Sea Birds beat Azalaians FC 6-0; DC Rangers beat Ethiopian Strikers 2-1; Carterville beat Park United 4-0; Eleven Ideas beat Paarl City 4-1; Boland Warriors beat FC Athletico 4-2; City Killers beat Young Africans 2-0; and Power Cosmos beat Saron United 6-0.
