WORKS by David Brown, regarded as one of the handful of really significant sculptors in South Africa, can be seen at Off the Wall Contemporary Gallery in Paarl.
Victor Honey, senior lecturer in art education, said about David Brown’s work: “Artists, like scientists, seek to share their knowledge of the world with us through the means at their disposal.
“David Brown is someone who has been able to manipulate materials, objects and subject matter and transformed these into mediums which provide us with profound metaphors for our experienced world of knowing and feeling.
Also at Off the Wall, is the current ‘On Paper’ exhibition showcasing South Africa’s top and up-and-coming artists.
Works by Louis Barnard, Chris Diedericks, Thembinkosi Kohli (Paarl), Michael Taylor, Sandra Hanekom, Christo Basson, Diane Victor, Lara Kruger (Paarl), Gordon Froud and many others are on display.
The exhibition will be open until 2 November.
