Fever for festival of music
2007-10-25
MUSIC fever will hit Paarl with Spring Affair, a music festival to be held at Dal Josaphat Stadium on 3 November.
Gates open at 12:00, with thousands of music fans expected to stomp their feet until closing time at 21:00.
Featured in the Boland music showcase are not only the celebrated group Jamali from Johannesburg, but other musicians from Cape Town and Drakenstein.
Leading the artists from the Boland is the high-rising Ijhana, who shows to be a future R&B Hip-Hop star.
This 17-year-old girl from Groenheuwel is presently featured on the radio charts.
Other artists include Byron D and his brother, Alfondso, DJ Thabisa, Kallitz, Nu Method, and the Wellington dancer, Nicole H.
According to spokeman Ed Bam, the organisers opted for Dal Josaphat Stadium because of it being “within walking distance for many fans.”
In anticipation of the big crowd expected at the festival, Bam said security and emergency plans have been put in palace.
No weapons or liquor will be allowed into the stadium. Food and drinks will be on sale inside the premises.
Tickets (R80) are sold at the New Orleans bottlestore, New Orleans pub and Madina Baye Boutique.
