Burgundy shines
2007-10-25
THE Burgundy Bourgogne Farm outside Franschhoek, owned by Trevor Kirsten, shone at the recent SA Olive Awards 2007.
The gala event that was held at Laborie Wine Estate was a prestige evening filled with fine wine and dining. In the run for the Olive Oil awards in the category for Medium Intensity Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Burgundy Bourgogne won Gold.
A proud product of the historic 18th century Burgundy Bourgogne Farm in the fertile Franschhoek Valley, this fine extra Virgin Olive Oil is made from the choicest Frantoio olives harvested at the very peak of their readiness and then promptly cold pressed to capture the intensely full-bodied, but delicately subtle natural flavours whilst retaining a fruity virginal freshness. It is surely an olive oil for true culinary connoisseurs.
