FOLLOWING the resounding success of last year’s event, Pearl’s Gate, the Paarl Winelands’ “route within a route”, presents their second annual Barrel Tasting Festival on 18 November at Nelson’s Wine Estate.

This event is a collaborative effort between Bernheim Wines, Crow’s Nest, Nelson’s Creek, Rhebokskloof, Ridgeback Wines, Rose Garden and Under Oaks, who collectively make up the Pearl’s Gate mini wine region.

The wines of this region are hailed by Wine Master Sue van Wyk to be “setting a new benchmark of excellence and carving an international reputation which will be a hard act to follow.”

The festival offers visitors a host of attractions, headlined by the opportunity to taste unreleased wines straight from the barrel.

Get a sneak preview of the great wines to come and meet the winemakers who made them.

Live music, delicious food, plenty of activities for kids, local arts and crafts and more make for a wonderful day out for the whole family.

Tickets are available at the gate at R60 (under 16’s free).

The festival runs from 11:00 to 17:00.
