EIGHTEEN local sportsmen and sportswomen were recently selected to represent the town of Paarl at the 2007 Crazy Games (previously known as the Summer Games) which will be broadcast on SABC2 on 15 December at 18:30.
The team, consisting of sixteen contenders and two reserves, left for Durban on Tuesday where they were set to compete against teams from other towns or cities for the coveted prize.
The various games in which the teams will compete, is not only hilarious, but very physical and highly competitive as well.
Depending on the success of the Paarl team, they might be in line to take part in the final showdown which will take place tomorrow.
The team from Paarl consists of Shiela Panyeka, Shanica Truskey, Emile Clayton, Anleri Francis, Suretha Kotzé, Samone Brown, Gertruida Hays, Nneheleng Koali, Xolisile Kama, Brenton van Schoor, Shepard Mokroti, Shane Philips, Alwyn Carstens, Adlee Moerat, Keenan Watson, Lochner van Rensburg, Bongani Mbishe and Edward Karelse.
They were accompanied by Maawyah Moerat (coördinator) and Anthony Sauls (representative of the mayor).
