NICRO, the National Institute for Crime Prevention and the Reintegration of Offenders, is offering services in Paarl, Franschhoek and Wellington.
Services include assisting the relatives of offenders with transport for prison visits, transferring inmates to prisons closer to home, and assisting parents with child grants when the breadwinner is in prison.
Nicro also assists ex-offenders with skills training and business opportunities allowing their reingeratino into society, and runs the YES Youth Empowerment Scheme which teaches life skills to developing teenagers who are at crime risk between ages 12 to 18 years.
Victim support is also available with many domestic violence workshops being run along with other support structures.
In Paarl, Nicro’s Phelisa Mananga is available at the Community Hall in Huguenot every Thursday from 08:00 to 16:30.
She visits Franschhoek (Groendal) on Wednesdays, and is available in Wellington at the Breakthru Community Hall on Mondays.
