Symphony of Lights festival

THE Municipal Symphony of Lights will brighten Saron tomorrow and Gouda Saturday. In Saron the festival opens with prayer at 19:00 and continues on with Poppekas a Christmas play. Singing will follow with the Awesome Brothers at 19:30, Demore at 19:50, Ashleigh Booysen at 20:15 and BlacShuga at 20:30. Executive Mayor Charmaine Manual will again address the festival- goers and “Switch On” the lights at 21:00. The Saron Dansgroep will follow and Gustav will host the prize-giving at 21:20. Essentials will perform at 21:35 followed by Spliff Stars and Karin Kortje from Idols. The festival of lights will close in Gouda on Saturday at 17:00 with scripture and prayer and then the performance of two Christmas plays first by Bakerville Primary and then Poppekas. Artists performing will be Gavin Lakay, Joh-Relda and Chevonne at 18:15, dancer Fabian Khayanisa at 18:30, BlacShuga at 18:45, Born Leaders at 19:15 and Victor Mouton at 19:45. Prize-giving will be at 20:10 followed by an address by Executive Mayor Charmaine Manual, the lights will again be switched on at 21:00. Spliff Stars and Karin Kortje will perform at 21:00 and 21:15 until the final close of the festival at 23:00.
