Boschenmeer to expand
2005-06-15
FURTHER expansion of the Boschenmeer golf estate is on the cards for Paarl.
Three farms south of the estate, on the east bank of the Berg River, have been acquired and are due to become part of the estate.
The extension of 77 hectares will include 412 single residential erven, 57 group housing units, a hotel and an extension of the golf course by nine holes, as well as a halfway house with lifestyle centre.
Comments and objections, if any, must reach the municipal manager by 11 July.
New complex
* A new gated security development is planned in Suider Paarl, where a mini-golf course was located about thirty years ago.
The property of 1,2 hectares, belonging to the Perold family, is located on the Old Paarl Road, west of the provincial roads office.
Group housing (13 units) as well as a lifestyle centre with small shops, an art gallery and a restaurant are planned, while retaining the existing house.
The erven will be about 250 square metres each.
Comments and or objections must reach the municipal manager by 11 July.
* Another block of flats is planned for Wellington, to alleviate the shortage of student accommodation.
The three-storey block of 38 flats will be built in Addey Street, near the municipal swimming pool on a site of 2 800 square metres.
Comments on the proposed project must reach the municipal manager by 18 July.
