ON 15 and 16 February South Africa will see the hugely successful Cansa Shavathon returning to malls and corporations.
Since its inception, the Shavathon sponsored by Nedbank and M-Net, has raised more than R15 million and the 2008 event promises to raise even more funds and awareness for the disease that affects one in four South Africans.
By shaving their crowning glory or spraying their hair a multitude of colours, South Africans can help raise funds that will be used for prevention programmes and patient care services.
These funds will be used to further cancer research and provide home- based care for cancer patients.
All participation donations will go to the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa).
The public can go to Paarl Mall on 16 February to shave or spray for R50 donation.
Corporate South Africa can also support this great initiative by hosting their own Shavathon on 15 February for their employees.
