THE Drakenstein Municipality has received an application for the rezoning of the Oude Paarl Boutique Hotel site on Paarl’s Main Street, so that it can be converted into a retirement hotel with a frail care facility.
The existing hotel rooms will be redeveloped as retirement units while a new block of retirement units will be constructed on the vacant land at the rear of the main building.
The two-bedroomed units will be situated in the new buildings and form part of the current application and rezoning process. This will be developed as phase two.
The total development will consist of 48 apartments and rooms on the site of 4614 square metres with 24 hour reception. The frail care facility will accommodate approximately 19 patients in ten rooms.
Units sell from R620 000 (30 square metres) to R950 000 (70 square metres) for life rights with profit sharing.
