THE Paarl Soccer Club u.18’s scored five goals on Saturday against Lynedoch of Stellenbosch to win the match 5-1. The home side playing at Ida’s Valley in Stellenbosch restricted the Paarl side to one goal in the first period. Striker Dylan Carolissen managed to header a goal that put the visitors ahead. Paarl coach, Robbie Meyer, was unhappy with the missed chances in the first half, but in the second half the Paarlites came out in a more determined mood. By simple passing into the spaces and using the width of the pitch, Paarl were able to go further ahead. A great one-two between Johannes and Carolissen saw the striker grab his second. Lynedoch hit back after a defensive error, but captain van Rooyen put the Paarlites further ahead after he buried an excellent shot from outside the area into the bottom corner. Shane Williamson then made it four for Paarl after a mistake by the home goalkeeper, before Emile Krieger scored with a powerful header to make the score 5-1 for the visiting side.
