2011-09-15

THE Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate, Franschhoek, won Double Gold for The Grande Provence 2006 and Gold for the Sauvignon Blanc 2011, the Chardonnay 2010 and the Shiraz 2007 at this year’s Michelangelo Wine Awards.

The award ceremony was held in Cape Town last week.

Then Grande Provence went on to shine at the 11th Mundus Vini International Wine Awards held in Germany.

Grande Provence received gold for the Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 and The Grande Provence 2006 as well as silver for the recently released Sauvignon Blanc 2011.

More than 6 000 wines from 42 countries entered into the 2011 awards and put under thorough examination by an international jury of wine experts.

Winemaker Jaco Marais comments, “Without question it’s a huge honour to have your wines recognised.

“But it is also deeply rewarding to know that the team at Grande Provence is exactly that, a great team of family striving constantly to offer the very best to our guests who visit the Estate and those who are enjoying our wines worldwide.”
