THE multi award-winning Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate in Franschhoek just added further accolades to its existing plethora of awards.
It received a gold award for its Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 and The Grande Provence 2006 and silver for its Pinot Noir 2009, Chardonnay 2010 and Viognier/Chenin Blanc Blend 2010 at the 2011 AWC Vienna International Wine Challenge in Austria.
Comments winemaker Jaco Marais: “2011 is proving to be a very fruitful year and to be recognised world-wide for work that’s purely driven by passion from a dedicated team, is truly incredible.”
AWC Vienna is the world’s largest wine valuation and the only international wine valuation in Austria officially approved by the European Union for the purpose of granting awards for wines.
Various national and international oenologists, wine experts, sommeliers, gastronomers, wine traders and journalists have judged this year’s awards.
