Last shot at gun run

THE entry deadline for this year’s OUTsurance 94.5 Kfm Gun Run halfmarathon and 10 km is around the corner and those wanting to take part have until tomorrow (Friday 23 September) to do so, as no late entries will be taken after this date. The event takes place on 9 October (Sunday) and participants have a choice of a 21 km half-marathon, 10 km run/walk or a 5 km fun run/walk, specifically aimed at families, younger participants and walkers. Only entries for the 5 km will be taken on race day. This year’s event has a new start and finish with participants lining up outside the Cape Town Stadium in Fritz Sonnenberg Road for the start and finish in the new Green Point Park. The 21 km starts at 07:00, the 10 km at 07:30 and the 5 km at a new starting time of 08:30. Cut-off is at 10:00. The Cape Field Artillery will again be at the event to fire the gun that starts all three distances and then again at 10:00 to mark the cut-off. Participants can enter online at www.thegunrun.co.za or pick up an entry form from any Sportsmans Warehouse, where entries will also be taken in store.
