PROJECT MANAGER: Franschhoek based Not-for-Profit
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting directly to the Founders Management and implementation of projects in primary schools and within the community in the Franschhoek area.
Management of daily site visits to schools & crθches to monitor progress of projects, meet and engage with children, educators and volunteers
Co-ordination and recruitment of volunteer staff
Set up/Planning of weekly & termly educational, sports and club programmes
Creation, implemention and monitoring of measurement tools for academic programmes
Organise life skills programmes and workshops
Organise community outreach and training programmes for parents/carers
Organise and run local sporting tournaments for primary school age children
Liaison with local high schools for the provision of teen tutors, use of facilities and sporting exchange. Report writing and feedback
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to manage, motivate and train volunteer & paid staff Ability to create and manage to a budget Strong interpersonal and organisational skills Report writing and computer skills Energetic, passionate, committed and reliable person Courageous and solutions orientated High level of comfort with, ability to communicate with and understanding of children Community awareness Knowledge of school curriculum for primary and high school Drivers licence and own transport. Must reside within 25km of Franschhoek English fluency, both written and oral required. Afrikaans & Xhosa knowledge a plus
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION
Degree or diploma in Education, Social Studies, or Development Studies Higher degree a plus Computer literacy at a high level, including with financial reports and the internet.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in working with primary school children and teenagers Previous teaching experience, social work or corporate training experience Involvement in community projects or activities Staff training or co-ordination experience/experience in human relations management
