We are currently seeking to appoint a Despatch Clerk/Transport Estimator. The applicant will have completed Matric and have extensive experience with transport estimation in a Despatch environment. The ideal candidate will be completely computer literate and outstanding in the Microsoft packages.
Reporting to the Despatch Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for estimating transport orders, processing of delivery notes, providing customers with accurate quotes and liaising with stakeholders to ensure that customer requirements are met.
The candidate will be experienced in sourcing the most cost effective transport providers and solutions for each delivery as well as customising each order according to distance travelled, weight, petrol prices, foreign exchange and other contributing factors.
The successful candidate will be involved in the full despatch scope including reconciliation of delivery notes and filing.
The position requires an accurate person with strong numerical skills, good interpersonal skills and team orientation. The candidate will be bilingual (English and Afrikaans) and be able to work under pressure.
