Professional Nurse for Home Based Community Care
Part-time position (25 hour week)
Key role: The successful candidate will form part of a small team delivering quality palliative care and general home nursing services to the local Franschhoek community.
Duties include: patient assessment; formulation and implementation of care plans; accurate recording of home visits and a holistic approach whilst working in conjunction with the Interdisciplinary team.
Supervision, support and training of community caregivers.
Attending training programmes and courses.
Applicants should live within 30kms of Franschhoek to facilitate rotational weekends ‘on call’ and after hours' duties.
Requirements:
Registered Professional Nurse with 5 years’ post qualification experience.
Unendorsed driver’s licence
Proficient in English and Afrikaans/Xhosa
Registration with the SANC
Advantageous: Qualifications or experience in Palliative Care /Community Health. Experience or recognized training in HIV/Aids care.
A great sense of humour.
