WORKING FOR WATER BERG RIVER PROJECT MANAGED BY OVERBERG WATER Working for Water (WfW), an inter-departmental programme lead by the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry, aims to sustainably control invading alien plant species, thus promoting water conservation and biodiversity. This will enhance water security, improve ecological integrity, restore productive potential of land, create jobs and facilitate economic empowerment. A temporary position is available for the following position. QUALITY CONTROLLER - PAARL This is a 2-year contract with a 6-month probation period. The contract might be extended by mutual agreement. REQUIREMENTS: Grade 12 (Std 10) and two years’ relevant experience of the WFW Programme Good knowledge of the Health & Safety Act and requirements Good communication skills Proven quality control background regarding herbicide Be able to operate chainsaws Valid driver’s licence RECOMMENDATIONS: Knowledge, insight and understanding of Working for Water projects The candidate must be self-motivated, pro-active and be able to work independently. DUTIES: Mapping in field Daily site inspection Co-ordinating work of Contractors Submit a quality control report after evaluation of completed projects Control the mixing of herbicide in the field Ensure good health & safety conditions. A CV (Curriculum Vitae) with certified copies of qualifications; ID (Identity Document) and Driver’s Licence.
