Tourism is an important economic activity for the Western Cape region and wine tourism is fast gaining popularity globally. We are looking for young, dynamic and self-motivated individuals to help build the profile of the Dwarsrivier Valley in this exciting context.
TOURISM OFFICER: DWARSRIVIER VALLEY TOURISM OFFICE:
Job Profile: Managing and supporting tourism projects, attending tourism exhibitions and marketing events, undertaking community liaison, facilitate community awareness and training as well as educational for media, tour operators etc.
Organise tourism workshops & meetings, facilitation and monitoring a range of tourism projects, increasing community participation & awareness in tourism initiatives, building relations with tourism stake-holders, strong financial management skills.
Requirements:
Relevant tertiary qualification preferably in tourism, or at least 2-3 years’ working experience in the tourism environment, computer skills, administrative skills, project management skills, fluent in Afrikaans & English, Xhosa will be a recommendation, demonstrated interest in tourism development will be to the applicant's advantage, knowledge of foreign languages will also be to the applicant's advantage (German & French), valid Code B driver's licence. Candidate should have a good knowledge of tourist attractions in the Cape Winelands and willing to learn more.
Commencement of duties: To be arranged mutually
