AFTER-SCHOOL CLUB TEACHER AND SPECIAL NEEDS SUPPORT
Full-time position, managing the special needs programme for the 6 - 18-year-olds who attend our after-school clubs on the wine farms.
This will involve liaison with occupational therapists, educational psychologists and other professionals.
You will be required to manage a budget for this programme, and submit progress reports. You will also be expected to teach some sessions in the clubs as well as take part in the training of the club staff. You will be overall responsible for developing the lifeskills and homework programmes presented in the 10 clubs.
You will need to have:
A teaching qualification and at least 3 years experience teaching the relevant age group. Some experience in working with children with learning difficulties or special needs. The ability to manage a budget and account for all spending. The ability to work as a team, but also to manage your own time. Fluency in both written and spoken English and Afrikaans. A sense of humour and ability to deal with some stressful situations. Your own vehicle and willingness to use it to drive to the farms for work. You will need to be:
