(CAPE WINELANDS DISTRICT, WESTERN CAPE)
DPSA seeks to employ a Community Development Worker for the Cape Winelands District. DUTIES: • Raise awareness of DYSA structure and activities in the District
• Membership recruitment, assist with establishing branches in the district and ensure DYSA representation at local level • Develop and regularly update DYSA provincial membership database • Co-ordinate and implement advocacy campaigns with youth • In consultation with Youth Co-ordinator, regularly analyse project outputs and modify work plan accordingly
• Support and contribute to timely submission of progress reports, work plans and record-keeping
• Ensure project deadlines and targets are met
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Matric • Experience and knowledge of the disability/ NGO sector
• Experience working with youth • Computer literate (MS Office packages, Internet & Email)
• Good administration and writing skills • Good interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
• Fluency in English (read, write, speak). An ability to communicate in any of the languages used in the targeted Province/District is considered an advantage
• Flexibility and willingness to work irregular hours, including working on weekends/ public holidays
