Basil Read (Pty) Ltd, a major leader in the building industry requires the following personnel in the Western Cape Province.
• Contract Manager (2 Posts available) (Ref N001)
The suitable applicant should have relevant qualifications. NHD/ BTech / BSC - Building or Civil. Min 15yrs’ experience in the building industry, you must have relevant experience as Contracts Manager on commercial and major building projects. Strong site programming and site management skills. Good knowledge of admin and contractual side of projects. Must be responsible and accountable.
• Cost Controller (2 Posts available) (Ref N002)
Relevant accounting qualification University graduate with 5 years’ commercial experience in the construction industry is required. In depth knowledge of IFRS and South African taxes is vital. The applicant must be computer literate in Word and Access. Working experience on Buildsmart accounting software will be an added advantage.
• Quantity Surveyor (2 Posts available) (Ref N003)
The suitable applicant should have relevant qualifications BSc (QS) degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying with 5 to 8 years’ experience as a QS on a contracting site on a commercial and major building project. The applicant must be computer literate (CCS), strong knowledge of contractual documentation, management skills, measurement, feedback for site reports and the drafting of monthly certificates, sub-contractors, admin, monitor adherence to company procedures and record additional works and variation claims.
• General Site Foreman (2 Posts available) (Ref N004)
The suitable applicant should have at least 20 years’ exp as a foreman on large commercial and major building projects with min 5 yrs as a General Foreman. Must have good concrete knowledge, strong on all trades, interpret drawings, work to program, set out, plan, strong emphasis on quality & finishes. Must be responsible and accountable.
• Site Foreman (2 Posts available) (Ref N005)
The suitable applicant should have at least 10 years’ exp as a foreman on large commercial and major building projects. Applicant should be dynamic with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must have good concrete knowledges Strong on all trades, interpret drawings, work to program, set out, plan, strong emphasis on quality & finishes.
• Junior Site Foreman ( 2 Posts available) (Ref N006)
The suitable applicant should have at least 3 years’ exp as a junior foreman on building projects. Applicant should be dynamic with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• QA Manager (2 Posts available) (Ref N007)
10+ years working experience is required within the building industry. The ideal applicant must be in possession of a relevant tertiary qualification. Applicant should be dynamic with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Applicant should be computer literate. Sound knowledge and experience of safety in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act will be an advantage.
• Site Engineer (2 Posts available) (Ref N008)
The ideal applicant should have at least 3 years’ working experience in the building industry with a B Sc engineering degree or relevant diploma. The applicant must be computer literate. Good managerial and accurate administrative skills are also required. The applicant must have the will to learn and to achieve.
• Senior Site Clerk (2 Posts available) (Ref N009)
10 Years’ working experience in the building industry is required. Applicant should be dynamic with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The applicant must have site administration skills with knowledge of relevant labour legislations. Computer literacy is a must and knowledge of CCS (MRS) program will be advantageous.
• Junior Site Clerk(2 Posts available) (Ref N010)
The candidate must be able to perform payroll duties with general administration skills. The applicant must have 5 years’ working experience in a similar position.
