DEPT. CIVIL ENGINEERING SERVICES
1. FOREMAN (WATER SERVICES) (CIV-08/D.B.A.02.03)
2. UTILITY WORKMAN (WATER SERVICES) (CIV-08/D.B.A.02.03.02.01)
SELECTION CRITERIA :
(1) Grade 8 and Code EC1 (10) driver’s licence. 5 Years’ experience of construction work. Good communication and leadership skills.
(2) Must be able to read and write. 3 Years’ experience of bricklaying and smaller construction work. Good communication and leadership abilities
SALARY SCALE:
(1) R77 640 - R91 920 (Post Level 10) per annum.
(2) R45 288 - R50 124 (Post Level 14) per annum.
AIM OF POSTS:
(1) Responsible for the Construction sub section of the municipality’s Sewerage Section.
(2) Construction of manholes, construction of sewer connections, laying of pipelines, replacement of manhole covers and frames
Note : Proof of Qualifications is a requirement for selection.
The requirements of the Employment Equity Act will be considered for this position, but will not be the only criteria applied.
A service bonus equal to one month’s salary is payable and normal fringe benefits related to Local Authorities including a housing allowance scheme for home owners and will be applicable subject to certain conditions.

Placement of candidates for work can be done in any area of Drakenstein. This area covers Simondium, Paarl, Wellington, Gouda, Hermon and Saron.
