We are seeking to appoint a 'hands-on' qualified engineer (government ticket) with a Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering degree or diploma, who has 3 to 5 years’ practical experience in the manage-ment of a production and maintenance function in a manufacturing company.
The successful candidate will possess exceptional management and interpersonal skills, with proven experience of production and maintenance in a high speed-manu-facturing environment.
Reporting to the Managing Director, responsibilities include the effective management of production capacity, maintenance of all production related machinery, management of the inventory system, preventative maintenance as well as the management of production and maintenance staff.
Liaison, negotiation with, and management of suppliers and/or contractors pertaining to the procurement of new equipment and general production material, form an integral part of the responsibilities. The nature of the job also requires the occupant to liaise with customers on a regular basis. The successful applicant must be familiar with the OSCH Act and general safety practices.

We require the services of a qualified engineer (government ticket) who has a degree or at least a T3 engineering diploma in either mechanical or electro technical (heavy current) fields and who has, subsequent to achieving his qualifications, has had not less than three years’ practical experience in the management of a maintenance function in an FMCG pro-duction operation.
The successful candidate will have exceptional management and interpersonal skills, an inventory management back-ground, be computer literate and must be acquainted with the OSCH Act and general safety practices.
Reporting to the Managing Director, responsibilities include the maintenance of all production related machinery, liaison and negotiation with and management of suppliers and/or contractors, procurement of spares and management of the spare part inventory system, preventative maintenance and the management of maintenance staff and the health and safety program.
