THE R45 road between Franschhoek and Villiersdorp will be closed to traffic until 5 June to allow for repair of the stormwater drainage. The pass is still open for viewing, but it is completely closed at the foot of the pass on the Villiersdorp side.
A spokesperson for the Department of Transport and Public Works recommended that motorists use either the N1 via Worcester or the N2 via Grabouw for that period.
