Big heist in Wellington

THIEVES struck twice this week at a house in Blouvlei Road, Wellington, getting away with articles to the value of R1 million. On Sunday a pedestrian noticed an abandoned Toyota Tazz near Project 2 in Mbekweni. He notified the police who arrived on the scene to inspect the vehicle. The number plates had been removed form the car, but after checking the vehicle’s licence disc, it led police to the owner’s house in Blouvlei Road, Wellington. On arrival, no-one was home, but they noticed that a window had been broken. When the owners returned, they discovered that apart from their car which had been stolen, so had jewellery worth about R2500. And on Monday, the robbers returned, this time making off with a safe containing jewellery, US dollars and Kruger Rands, all to the value of a massive R1 million.
