Youngster's dream comes true

IT was a girls’ day out with a difference on 21 November when nine-year-old Chanté from Paarl shopped up a storm with her favourite TV star, Bertha Wahl from 7de Laan, at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. The special outing was part of the collaboration between Spice4Life - an organisation that connects women with purpose - and the Reach For A Dream Foundation. The new BFFs (best friends for ever) enjoyed a birds-eye view of the Mother City from the top of Table Mountain before they went to the V&A Waterfront for an afternoon of sailing aboard the Tigger 2 followed by shopping and lunch. The Reach For A Dream Foundation, now in its 21st year, has made 8 500 dreams come true for children between the ages of three and 18 living with a variety of life threatening illnesses including cancer, muscular dystrophy and cystic fibrosis. “We encourage children to use their dreams to fight their illnesses and seek as far as possible to make these dreams come true,” says Genevieve Rossouw of the Reach For A Dream Foundation.
