THE 2011 municipal elections will take place some time in May and in order to vote, residents must have registered as voters in the wards in which they reside.

If you have turned 18 since the last election, or have moved to a new address, you should visit the voting station nearest your home this weekend to register. All the voting districts de will have their stations open for registration over the weekend of 5 and 6 March from 08:00 to 17:00 on each day.

To check your voter registration, type in your identity number and SMS it to 32810 on any of the three networks and you will in return receive confirmation of your registration details.

In addition registration details can be verified at any time through the ‘Am I registered?’ facility on www.elections. org. za.
