A YOUNG woman was killed in Mbekweni on Saturday evening after being repeatedly stabbed with a knife.

According to police, a witness saw the deceased, Zeliswa Tshokotsha (24), and her boyfriend, arguing at approximately 19:45 in OR.

During this altercation, Veliswa was stabbed several times and she died on the scene.

Elias Bobotyane (30) has been arrested in connection with the incident.

* While police were investigating this murder, a minibus collided with a police vehicle at the scene of the crime, knocking down a bystander in the process. Police quickly arrested the driver of the minibus and he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
